The FIRST® Tech Challenge European Premier Event
We are High Five, the robotics team from Colegiul Național „Ion C. Brătianu” in Pitești, Romania, comprised of 20 dedicated students and 1 mentor. We managed to achieve 5th place out of 60 finalists at the FIRST® Tech Challenge România 2025 National Championship, earning us the privilege of qualifying for the European Premier Event. For our team, founded in 2020 and constantly evolving, participating represents a significant leap. It's an opportunity to immerse ourselves in how people outside of our country look upon this phenomenon, measure our skills, and embrace the FIRST® ethos of Gracious Professionalism® and Coopertition® on an international level.
About the event
Our ambition in attending extends beyond the competition arena. We see this as a wonderful occasion to inspire our hometown in Pitești and the wider Argeș community. By sharing our experiences with the world– the challenges, the learning, the collaboration – we aim to showcase the nearly unlimited possibilities within STEM fields and encourage others, especially young people, to explore their own potential, tackle ambitious projects, and understand the value of teamwork, all with just one competition. This event is not just about building robots; it's about building confidence, creating and sharing new perspectives, and empowering the members of our team to go forth and become leaders of the comunnity by constantly inspiring people and motivating them.
